Modern Home + Living
MH+L Feature on the beautiful Hotel Maya on Long Beach California.
The agency travels a fair bit to the States due to our commitments there. We would like to throw the spotlight on some of the outstanding work done by our friends and partners from the home of the brave. Modern Home + Living Magazine is the brainchild of a group of Angelenos including my best friend and photog extraordinaire Kevin Ou. It is best described as the quintessential Hollywood publication that provides exclusive insights to the private spaces of celebrities and personalities.
The Magazine has recently got into print and is distributed nationally in the US. Additionally, the team has also acquired an impeccably-designed 4,000 square foot penthouse suite right in downtown LA. This penthouse has been outfitted by the magazine's luxury partners with the latest in design furnishings, high-tech elements and eco-friendly fittings. Diecast is very much looking forward to using this space for premier launch parties and VIP events.

Into the Rabbit Hole
Diecast Agency was asked to design a concept event for Bowie’s A/W10 Paranormal Romance Collection. We chose to stage this show at the White Rabbit Gallery for its aura, beauty and ready made runway. Bravo to the Gallery’s visionary owners and their foresight.
After the gallery got the diecast treatment, we let the free flowing drinks, the density of good company and a few Lomo Mini Diana cameras floating around the hall work their magic.
“Into the rabbit hole and through the plastic lens.” Front row guests got playful with the Diana Mini. Lo-fi photography is making a big comeback especially among the international fashion set.

Three Over One
I was at the B2 Studio in Alexandria to oversee men's label ThreeOverOne shoot their S/S10 collection. Above is a first peek. Taking inspirations from Irvine Penn, Jim amassed a number of talents from different backgrounds and professions to take part in the shoot. Notably, not a single professional model was used. The finished lookbook will reflect the label's rugged elegance reminiscent of the 40s and 50s.

The Living Edge by Henryk Lobaczewski
Sydney photographer and good friend Henryk Lobacczewski is known to be a compulsive creator. Recently, this talented photog has expanded his artistic repertoire to make pieces of furniture that reflect his keen passion for antiquity and perhaps also, lost weekends in recycled timber mills. The table shown is made of 150 yr old Oregon timber and stainless steel legs. What I appreciate most is the wood finish that allows form and function to accompany the material's sense of history.
This one-off table has been put on sale by Henryk. I am sure it will be an interesting retreat for its new owners. Please contact me if you wish to enquire about more of Henryk's creations.

Catch up Australia
On Fashionblogs from Mary Scherpe on Vimeo.
Suzy Menkes, Head Fashion Editor of the International Herald Tribune talks about Fashion Blogs and their significance. Included in the video are the opinions from some of the biggest fashion bloggers on the planet. We know there have been rumblings about the lack of support for Aussie bloggers. This video illustrates that while Aussie labels should heed the relevance of blog media, our bloggers have to strive towards originality and aim to be at least as vibrant as their international counterparts.
